Description
First photo is missing 2 of the 4 ram sticks. Almost all of the components were snagged at low prices via extreme couponing and sales. Whole rig was sub $1000. The case is not the best for airflow unless you take off the front panel. This pc go fast. The CPU is supposed to max boost to 4.6 GHz. I don't know if I got lucky in the silicon lottery or somethin cause it boosts to 5.9 GHz on its own with no overclocking, and stays around 5.4 GHz average. The GPU likes to not run the fans until it gets put under a heavier load so it idle temps higher than it should. 60Hz 4K gaming is a breeze with this thing. Max settings CS:GO I average 170-210 fps in 4K.
Part Reviews
CPU
Absolute killer CPU for under $200, 8 powerful cores that frequently boost to 5.9 GHz each with no overclocking.
CPU Cooler
Does the job very well. Could benefit from having another fan, but the one works well enough. Confusing for a first time builder but after that, alls good.
Motherboard
Good. Has good IO and works wonders for the $85 price. Solid build quality.
Memory
Performs good, but the "Heat spreader" is literally just a sticker but it do in fact help.
Storage
Stole from an old laptop, slow but works.
Storage
Faster HDD storage at a fantastic price.
Video Card
Killer GPU for under $200, the fans don't start spinning until a larger load is given to it so it can have high idle temps but it never gets hot enough to be a problem. Kills every game I've thrown at it, I love it.
Case
Very nice glass side, decent cable management, bad front airflow but good top airflow. Front panel can be forced off with enough persistence to get better airflow. The two case fans are decent.
Power Supply
It provides the power as advertised, scares the living heck out of me as it weighs like 1lb and feels cheap, yet it seems to be doing fine and I trust Enermax.
Wireless Network Adapter
Damn good connection
Case Fan
Very nice fans with superb colors and fan speed. The color controller can get wonky and limit the color choices but they are still killer fans for the price.
Mouse
Single best mouse I have ever used, feels more responsive and comfortable than any expensive mouse I have put my hands on. The num-pad is fantastic for anything, I use it for fps games as it allows you to keep your finders on wasd and use your thumb for your hotkeys. For $30, this STOMPS most competition.
Custom
Nice AKG clone, good sound and sound staging. Great for gaming to hear positional sound.
